Hello, I am Claire
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expatriate residing in Paris, France.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
Those first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Gentle Field Echo
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in France goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Claire
